The City pays $64.60 per month per employee for city-sponsored health benefits and there is the option for an additional $329 to $608 a month in city contributions depending on the plan.

“For a part-time employee, the average health benefit is about 7 percent of the cost to budget the employee,” Haydon said.

“The starting salary for a labor III position is $11.92/hour,” Haydon said. A full-time equivalent would be an entry level grounds keeper at $13.97/hour.

“The retirement packages for the two positions are about the same, at 21 to 23 percent the cost of budgeting the employee,” Haydon said.
