From the Executive Director…. Governor’s ‘Special’ Election and Initiative to Silence Workers’ Voices - A Disingenuous Power Grab! By Walt Hamilton Governor Schwarzenegger continues to play political games instead of working on the real fiscal issues affecting our State. With the help of some his political supporters he is now attempting to make public employees the scapegoats for all the State’s budget problems. He supports an initiative designed to weaken public employees’ political voices at a time when he threatens to “Be Back” and push his failed attacks on California’s organized work force. The Small Business Action Committee lead by Joel Fox, who is closely aligned with Schwarzenegger, supports the Uhler Initiative. These supporters are pretending to defend working men and women against unauthorized use of union dues for political purposes (such as fighting back against his efforts to strip our pension system).
